Teaching quality of the content and mode of Microbiology courses was reformed adopting optimization, so as to improve teaching quality, stimulate students′ learning interest, and consolidate students′ elementary knowledge and professional skills for Chinese medicine program. The practical problems in the microbiology course offered to Chinese medicine program are firstly analyzed. The adjustment of teaching content, the reform of teaching model, and the improvement of courses assessment are then carried out based on traditional Chinese medicinal herbs and their correlated microorganisms, and combined with characteristics of local and traditional Chinese medicine under the premise of unchanged total class hours, which could make this course more relevant to the needs of professional development. The class hours′ proportion of theory teaching, was adjusted, and highlighted the contents of elementary knowledge of microbiology and the application of microorganisms in pharmacy. At the same time the students′ comprehensive practical ability was cultivated and deepened in the practical teaching, stratified teaching, and emphasized the goal orientation. In terms of teaching means, the combination of modularization and other teaching modes were adopted to assist the students to build a knowledge system correlated to microbiology, understand and master the knowledge they have learned. In addition, the proportion of assessment in terms of usual learning and practice were increased to encourage students to attach importance to the training of curriculum learning and practical ability. Through the optimized course design, the learning difficulty of students has decreased, the purpose of learning was clearer and more definite, the microbiology knowledge they have learned is more closely related to Chinese medicine program, and more accord with the talents training goal. |
